Visual Notes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

My series Songs of Silence<\/a><\/em> took shape, among other things, in three leporellos<\/a>. Viewers’ reactions \u201ccalming, comforting, hopeful\u201d confirm that the work resonates. The tangibility of the objects themselves proved to be an unexpectedly powerful part of that experience. This has made me curious: how can I use material and form even further to deepen my fine art photography<\/a>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am now exploring that insight further. How can material deepen the theme of impermanence? Which carriers, such as handmade paper, transparent fabrics, layers and textures, make time more tangible? I am focusing on analog and hybrid techniques such as transfers, cyanotype, and collage; techniques that carry their own fragility, their own sense of passing time. My goal: to make my photography less digital and more tangible, so that the material itself becomes part of the storytelling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this material research I received a grant from\u00a0Fentener van Vlissingen Fonds<\/a>\u00a0via FOTODOK<\/a>\u00a0(2026) <\/p>\n\n\n\n
